KENNESAW, Ga. – A 9-5 come-from-behind win for the Kennesaw State baseball team brought the Owls their third consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference series win and 10th in a row as KSU trounced East Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon.

Jacob Bruce knocked four hits during the four-run win with Nathan Harsh grabbing the win on the mound after 2.1 innings of work in which he allowed just one hit.

KSU moves its record to 24-20 on the season while picking up win number 10 in the A-Sun at 10-9. The Buccaneers sink to under .500 with the loss with a 20-21 record and even in the league standings at 8-8.

After a pair of scoreless innings to start off the game, the Owls found their way on the board in the bottom of the third as Matt Bahnick singled to start things off, made it to second on a Dylan Ivey sacrifice bunt and came home to score on a throwing error for the 1-0 lead.

But the Bucs responded, dropping four runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead with five hits including a two RBI single from Chris Cook to set ETSU up 4-1.

KSU grabbed one more in the home half of the fourth, Max Pentecost extending his hit streak to 25 games while picking up his sixth homer of the season with a solo blast to left field, cutting the Buccaneer lead down to just two.

ETSU again responded, lifting its lead back up to three runs with an RBI single from Kevin Phillips to keep the Bucs on top, 5-3.

The bats then woke up for the Owls in the bottom of the fifth, Bahnick keeping the hot bat with a double before Ivey reached on the error by ETSU. Simmons then sent a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Bahnick, before Jacob Bruce reached on a single.

After Pentecost was intentionally walked to load up the bases, senior Bo Way stepped up with a two RBI single followed by a bases clearing two RBI triple to left center field from Alex Liquori to give the Owls the 7-5 lead.

KSU then threw up two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to expand the lead, Bruce knocking his third single of the day followed by a base hit from Pentecost. A Brennan Morgan sacrifice fly sent in Bruce followed by an RBI single from Chris McGowan to send the Owls up 9-5.

The tag-team duo of James Connell and Justin McCalvin then closed out the Bucs, going the final 2.1 innings from the hill not allowing a hit while striking out five.

At the plate the Owls again made it double-figure hit totals with 13, Bruce leading with his four, all singles, with two runs scored. Bahnick was good for three hits on the day with a double and two runs scored.
Pentecost and Liquori each picked up a pair of hits, Liquori driving in two with Pentecost scoring three.

The Owls and the Bucs will wrap-up the three-game series on Sunday, April 27, in a 1 p.m. ET matinee as KSU goes for the sweep on Sundae Funday.
