ROUND ONE RESULTS (PDF) | ROUND TWO TEE TIMES | VIDEO | LIVE SCORING JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team put itself in good position after the first 18 holes of play at the 2014 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships and sit in second place after firing a nine-over par 297 at the par-72, 6,198-yard Pine Lakes Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club on Monday, April 14.
The Owls are just three strokes behind first-round leader Mercer, who opened with a six-over par 294, while defending champion East Tennessee State trails KSU by three strokes after a 12-over par 300.
Junior
Kaew Preamchuen led the way for the Owls, shooting a one-under par 71 and is tied for the lead with Jacksonville's Jessica Welch. After bogeying the second hole, Preamchuen rebounded with birdies on the sixth and 11th holes while completing the rest of her round bogey-free.
Freshman
Laura Estefenn turned in a two-over par 74 and is tied for ninth, while junior defending A-Sun individual champion
Ines Lescudier carded a three-over par 75 in her first round.
Freshman
Dulcie Sverdloff and junior
Mette Kryger Pedersen each posted a five-over par 77 to complete first round play for the Owls.
The Championship continues with second-round action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14, with split tee times beginning at 8 a.m. ET as Kennesaw State will again be paired with Mercer and ETSU. Fans can follow the action live at
