It was a heartbreaking loss for the Kennesaw State baseball team on Sunday afternoon as the Owls dropped the rubber match of a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series with Jacksonville, 4-3.

The Kennesaw State baseball team heads back into A-Sun action this weekend, taking on Florida Gulf Coast in three-game series starting on Friday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Owls in the Nation
The Owls are back in the top 10 in total hits, now sitting at No. 7 in the nation with 315. KSU also ranks at No. 30 in total runs this season with 176.

Tough on the Mound
Along with the offensive prowess this season, KSU has also been tough on the mound, striking out 7.9 batters per nine innings and holding a staff ERA of 3.92.

Small Ball
KSU has been playing small ball well this season, laying down a total of 40 sacrifice hits including 25 bunts, 15 sacrifice flies and 34 stolen bases.

Top Week for Pentecost
Max Pentecost hit over .500 this past week, going 10-of-18 from the plate with his A-Sun leading 11th double, his third home run, four runs scored and three RBI. Pentecost also caught four runners attempting to steal including a school record three in one game at Auburn.
Pentecost in the Nation
Pentecost now ranks at No. 6 in the nation in total hits with his 47, 20th in doubles with 11 and 17th in total bases with 69 and currently holds the longest hit-streak in the A-Sun at 12 games.

Simmons' On Base
Kal Simmons, who sits at has also reached base in 28 of the team's 31 games, also ranks in the top 30 in hits in the country with 27 and has 13 games with multiple hits. Simmons is the only player in the KSU lineup to have started at the same position all season, filling the shortstop spot. Pentecost has seen action in all 31 as both a catcher or a designated hitter.

McCalvin on the Hill
Justin McCalvin has risen as one of the top relief pitchers in the land, posting a 1.11 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched. The righty is now sixth in the nation in WHIPS with a 0.68 mark.

Pentecost,
Jacob Bruce and
Bo Way have now combined for 20 stolen bases on the year, Pentecost taking nine in 10 attempts with Bruce taking six and Way earning five.

Mike Sansing is closing in on win number 900 at the helm of KSU baseball, currently sitting at 896 in 23 seasons with the Owls.
