KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State baseball team picked up win number 10 on the season on Saturday at Stillwell Stadium, splitting a doubleheader with Ivy League foe Columbia, dropping game one, 9-3, before a commanding 15-1 game two win.

Alex Liquori was good for six hits and six RBI during the afternoon as KSU moves its record to 10-7 on the year while the Lions sit at 3-4.

In game number one of the day it was Columbia that struck first, picking up a run in the top of the first after a Robb Paller RBI single. KSU then took over the lead in the fourth, dropping two runs as a Liquori RBI single to the right side pushed home
Brennan Morgan and
Bo Way for the 2-1 score.

The Owls added on one more in the fifth as
Dylan Ivey scored on a
Jacob Bruce single after reaching on an error by the Columbia second baseman, putting KSU up by a pair.
Â
But Columbia answered back in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs on a pair of hits and a costly KSU error to regain the lead, 4-3. The teams then played scoreless through the eighth before the Lions tagged on five in the top of the last to bump their lead up to 9-3 before retiring the Owls in the bottom half to take the win.

Travis Bergen took the loss on the hill despite a six inning day with a pair of strikeouts, allowing three earned runs.
Cole McArthur went the seventh and the eighth giving up just one hit.

Liquori put up three hits during the outing, all singles, with a walk and a pair of RBI.
Â
From the field, the Owls turned a pair of double plays while picking off a pair of eager runners.

In game two of the twinbill it was all Owls as KSU picked up its first run of the ballgame as Bruce scored after reaching on the strikeout wild pitch, before stealing second, making it to third on an error and scoring on a Way RBI single.
Â
The Lions tied it up briefly in the top of the fifth before a huge bottom half of the inning for the Owls as the home team put up six runs to jump up 7-1.

The first three Owls up in the inning each reached safely, loading the bases for McGowan who drove in the first run of the inning.
Clint Wynn and Liquori each picked up RBI as well, Liquori bringing in two, as the Owls blew the contest open with six hits and a pair of Lion errors.

KSU added on three more in the bottom of the seventh with another RBI from McGowan driving in Way for the first run followed by
Colin Bennett scoring on a Liquori RBI. McGowan then came around on a
Cornell Nixon sacrifice fly to put the Owls up 10-1.

Wynn drove in a pair with a monster shot to the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh, bringing in Way and McGowan before being driven in by Liquori for the 13-1 lead.

The scoring continued in the top of the eight as
Eric Britt and Simmons scored on an error and a Way sacrifice fly RBI as the Owls walked away with the 15-1 win.
Â
Nathan Harsh picked up the game two win, his second of the season, after going seven complete allowing just five hits with one run and striking out seven.
Â
Way ended the game with four hits in as many at bats with three runs scored and a pair of RBI as Liquori continued his hot day at the plate with three hits, four RBI and a run scored.
Â
Bruce, McGowan and Wynn each finished with two hits, Wynn driving in three.
Â
KSU and Columbia will square off again on Sunday, March 9 at 1 p.m. ET in the series finale at Stillwell Stadium.
