THE GAME:
The Kennesaw State softball team continues a seven-game home stand this weekend as the Owls open Atlantic Sun Conference action with a three-game series against North Florida starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. ET, followed by a Sunday series finale at 1 p.m.

THE OPPONENT:
North Florida
The Ospreys enter this weekend's three-game series having won seven of their last 10 games, but dropped two out of three against Lipscomb in their conference opening series last weekend. UNF posted a 12-4 win in game one, before dropping back-to-back games to the Bison, 9-0 and 7-0. The Ospreys are led on offense by Ashia Kerr with a .340 batting average and three home runs, while Marissa Thomas owns a team-best 12 RBI and Kelly Wilson leads the team with 20 hits. Cortney Radke leads UNF in the circle with a 0.91 ERA and is 6-1 on the season. She has posted 43 strikeouts, which sits fourth-best in the league. UNF owns a 9-2 record away from Jacksonville.
THE SERIES:
This will be the 53rd meeting between the Owls and the Ospreys, with KSU holding 39-13 advantage in the series. UNF took last season's series with two wins over the Owls (2-1 and 4-2), while KSU posted 4-3 win in game two of the series. Then-senior
Jensen Hackett led the Owl offense with a .571 batting average in the series, including a 4-for-4 performance plus a run and an RBI in KSU's victory.
LAST TIME OUT:
Kennesaw State suffered a 2-0 setback to rival Georgia Southern on Wednesday night (March 5) at Bailey Park. Eagle pitcher Sarah Purvis registered a perfect game as she did not allow a hit or a base runner in a complete game effort, while posting nine strikeouts in the outing. Junior pitcher
Paige Mathews allowed only four hits and one earned run in seven innings, while totaling four strikeouts in her best outing of the season.
NEXT UP:
The Owls wrap up their seven-game home stand, hosting back-to-back midweek games next week as the Owls face 2013 NCAA Tournament participant Mississippi State on Tuesday, March 11 at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader against Furman on Wednesday, March 12 starting at 2 p.m.

Fielding Percentage
The Owls own the fourth-best fielding percentage in the Atlantic Sun Conference at .962 with 353 putouts and 133 assists, including eight double plays, while only committing 19 errors on the season.
Strikeouts
The Owls rank in a tie for second in the A-Sun in batters struck out with 109 strikeouts in 118 innings.
Henderson in the Circle
Senior pitcher
Amanda Henderson (7-4) leads the Owls in the circle and ranks in the top five in the conference in several categories, including strikeouts (second, 66), appearances (second, 12), wins (second, seven), innings pitched (fourth, 55.2), opposing batting average (fourth, .152) and ERA (fifth, 1.13).
Dascoli at the Plate
Senior
Angie Dascoli leads the Owls with 18 hits and a .375 batting average, which sits 11th in the conference. She has started 16 of 17 games, mainly seeing action behind the plate.
Double Sutter
Sophomore
Courtney Sutter ranks third in the league in doubles with six on the season and leads the Owls with 11 RBIs this season.
