BSB: KSU Welcomes in Columbia for Four-Game Series

Owls Hold 5-4 Record at Stillwell Stadium

THE SERIES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team continues a seven-game home stand this weekend, hosting Columbia in a four-game series at Stillwell Stadium starting Friday, March 7 at 4 p.m. ET.
 
KSU looks to keep the momentum after a 3-0 win over Georgia State on Tuesday night against Columbia as the two teams meet for the first time in program history.
 
Friday's 4 p.m. ET contest will be an all you can eat game where fans can pay $21 for admission and unlimited concessions. The Owls and the Lions will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. ET followed by a Sunday series finale at 1 p.m. ET as well.

LAST OUTING
With a go-ahead RBI double from Brennan Morgan and 13 strikeouts from the pitching staff, the Kennesaw State baseball team nabbed a 3-0 win over cross-town rival Georgia State at home on Tuesday night.

NEXT UP:
KSU remains at home on Tuesday, March 18, taking on SEC opponent Auburn in Stillwell Stadium at 6 p.m. ET.

Owls in the Nation
KSU now ranks second in the nation in total hits with its 153.

Offensive Production
So far in 2014, KSU continues to lead the conference in run production, scoring 90 runs.
 
From the Mound
To go with the hitting prowess of the Owls in the first few games, KSU is starting to prove itself from the bullpen, holding a staff ERA of 3.12.

Bergen from the Hill
Starting pitcher Travis Bergen continues to lead the A-Sun in strikeouts with his 23 through the first three weeks of the 2014 season.
 
In Relief
Justin McCalvin is quickly becoming one of the top relief pitchers around, holding a 0.64 ERA in seven appearances. McCalvin has tossed 15.1 innings allowing just one earned run while striking out 15.
 
Hitting for Power
Max Pentecost is tops on the squad with his slugging percentage, putting up a .475 mark. The catcher has now knocked six hits for extra bases out of his 20.
 
Bruce Stealing Bags
Jacob Bruce leads the Owls in the stolen base category this season, coming up with four stolen bags in six attempts.
 
Simmons Back in the Lead
Kal Simmons, who took over the team lead with his 22 hits, has now reached base safely in all 14 of the Owls games this season.
