GREEMVILLE, S.C. – Juniors
Jimmy Beck and
Austin Vick each carded under-par rounds to lead the No. 36-ranked Kennesaw State men's golf team during Saturday's second round of the 18-team Furman Intercollegiate at the par-72, 6,994-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

Beck posted a 5-under par 67 and Vick recorded a 4-under par 68 to help the Owls to a 6-under par 282 total that placed them in third place with a 36-hole team total of 570, two shots behind Georgia State and No. 10 Virginia Tech. Both the Hokies and Panthers are at 8-under par 568.

"We made fewer mistakes today than yesterday but we still did not play our best," Kennesaw State head coach
Jay Moseley said. "Even our guys that played well today left some shots on the course. It will play a little tougher tomorrow (Sunday) so it will be important to stay patient. We know we can win if we play our best golf tomorrow."

Beck's 67 tied for the individual low round of the day and helped him move from a tie for 28th to a tie for fourth with a 4-under par 140, two shots behind Vick, who is third at 6-under par 138.

Virginia Tech's Trevor Crone will take a one-shot lead into the final round after registering a 3-under par 69 on Saturday to move to 9-under par 135 for the tournament, one shot ahead of Georgia State's J.J. Grey (136).

After shooting an even-par 72, redshirt junior
Kelby Burton is tied for 25th at 2-over 146, while freshmen
Chris Guglielmo (149) and
Teremoana Beaucousin (150) are tied for 45th and 52nd, respectively.

Sophomore
Carlos Segura Oliva (155), who is playing as an individual, is tied for 91st.

The Furman Intercollegiate concludes on Sunday with play beginning at 8 a.m. (ET). Kennesaw State is grouped with Georgia State and Virginia Tech and is slated to tee off at 12:20 p.m. (ET). All the action can be followed live on the internet at
