Â
Stolen Bases
KSU is on pace to top its stolen base total from one year ago, currently sitting at 33. Last year's mark was set at 60 and was good enough for fifth all time in the school record book.
Max Pentecost,
Jacob Bruce and
Bo Way have now combined for 19 stolen bases on the year, Pentecost taking eight in nine attempts with Bruce taking six and Way earning five.
Â
Pentecost Breaking Records
Pentecost had a night to remember on Friday against Lipscomb, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer and a KSU NCAA Division I record-tying six RBI. Pentecost added another school record to his name at Auburn, catching three runners attempting to steal. Pentecost has now caught 13 base runners attempting to steal from behind the dish.
Â
Simmons Playing Well
Kal Simmons now holds 12 games with multiple hits, seven with two, three with three and two with four. Simmons has also reached base in 25 of the team's 28 games. Simmons is the only player in the KSU lineup to have started at the same position all season, filling the shortstop spot. Catcher Pentecost has seen action in all 28 as both a catcher or a designated hitter.
Hit Streaks
Pentecost is looking to make it a 10-game hit streak Friday at JU, which would be the second double-digit hit streak of the year for the catcher.
Â
Bergin's K's
Starting pitcher
Travis Bergen continues to rank in the top five in the A-Sun in strikeouts with his 37 through the first month of the 2014 season.
