KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State softball team struggled to find its offensive rhythm at Bailey Park on a cold and windy Tuesday night (March 25), falling in midweek action to Georgia State, 8-0.
 
The Owls put up one hit against the Panthers, moving KSU's record to 16-15 on the season, while GSU improved to 14-16 in 2014.
 
The Panthers opened the scoring in the second inning with four unearned runs on three Owl miscues and a three-run home run to left field to take a 4-0 lead.
 
GSU plated a pair of run an inning later on back-to-back singles, before adding its final two runs of the night in the seventh for the 8-0 win.
 
Sophomore Megan Veringa registered the lone Owl hit of the night, a hard-hit single to left field in the fifth inning.
 
Starting senior pitcher Amanda Henderson (13-6) took the loss, giving up two earned runs on four hits, before junior Paige Mathews entered in the third inning, allowing only two runs on six hits, while striking out six in four and two-thirds innings.
 
Kaitlyn Medlam (8-6) earned the win for the Panthers, who got two hits, two runs, and two RBI from Ashley Christy. Taylor Anderson added three RBI for GSU.
 
The Owls wrap their five-game home stand tomorrow, Wednesday, March 26, as KSU hosts Georgia Tech for Lexi's Day 2014. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET at Bailey Park and can be seen on ASun.TV.
