EATONTON, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team finished ninth at the 15-team Linger Longer Invitational that concluded Sunday at the par-72, 7,073-yard Great Waters Course at Reynolds Plantation in Eatonton, Ga.

With a challenging course setup that included rain and cooler temperatures, scoring was at a premium as only tournament champion Georgia was able to post an under-par score during the final round. The Bulldogs turned in a 7-under par 281 to complete 54 holes at 27-under par 837 and record a 10-shot victory over three-time defending champion Alabama (847). The field included nine teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 50.

The Owls, led by freshman Teremoana Beaucousin, concluded play with a 15-over par score 879. The ninth-place finish marked the seventh top 10 showing in eight tournaments this season for KSU.

Beaucousin birdied his final hole of the day to record a 3-over par 75 and conclude the tournament at 3-under par 213 and tie for seventh place while finishing higher than three players in Golfstat's Top 50 individual rankings. The Owls' freshman posted rounds of 71-67-75 to finish six shots out of the lead and register his fifth consecutive Top 10 finish of the season.

Georgia's Michael Cromie birdied the 18th hole to record a one-hole playoff victory over Alabama's Robby Shelton to claim individual medalist honors. Both players tied for first with 9-under par totals of 207. Georgia teammates Joey Garber and Lee McCoy tied for third with 6-under par scores of 210.

Juniors Jimmy Beck and Austin Vick tied for 25th after posting 3-over par totals of 219. Redshirt junior Kelby Burton (230) tied for 61st while freshman Chris Guglielmo finished 75th.

Sophomore Carlos Segura Oliva, who played as an individual, finished at 13-over par 229 to tie for 58th.

Kennesaw State is next in action on Friday (Mar. 28) when it opens play in the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
