THE SERIES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team makes its Atlantic Sun Conference home debut this weekend, taking on Lipscomb in a three-game series at Stillwell Stadium.

Friday night's A-SunTV featured game will start off at 6 p.m. ET with free KSU tank tops given away to the first 300 students. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET with Sunday's 1 p.m. ET series finale set as Sundae Funday with special guest organ player Matthew Kaminski from the Atlanta Braves.

Even with a grand slam from Kennesaw State right fielder
Alex Liquori, the Owls couldn't overcome Georgia Tech at Stillwell Stadium on Tuesday night, falling 8-7 to even the season series at one game each.
NEXT UP:
The Kennesaw State baseball team starts off an eight-game road trip this Tuesday, March 25 as the Owls head to Auburn for the second game of a two-game series with the Tigers.

Vs. Lipscomb
The last time KSU met Lipscomb it was a 4-2 victory for the Owls in the second round of the A-Sun Tournament in DeLand, Fla.

KSU has now played five extra-inning games in 2014, posting a 3-2 record when the day goes longer than nine innings. So far, nearly a quarter of all games played have gone into extras

The Owls remain in the top five in the nation and first in the A-Sun in the total hits column, belting 242 through the first 24 games of the season.

Liquori's Hot Bat
Alex Liquori took over the team lead in batting average with a stellar weekend at Mercer. The sophomore is now hitting .350 with an on-base percentage of .400. and a team-best 21 RBI after a grand slam against Georgia Tech, his first homer of the season.
Stolen Bases
KSU is on pace to top its stolen base total from one year ago, currently sitting at 32. Last year's mark was set at 60 and was good enough for fifth all time in the school record book.
Max Pentecost,
Jacob Bruce and
Bo Way have now combined for 18 stolen bases on the year, Pentecost taking eight in nine attempts and Bruce and Way each earning five.

Jacob Bruce and teammate
Kal Simmons now each have nine multi-hit games, Bruce collecting three or more hits in three of those and Simmons belting three or more in four.

Shortstop
Kal Simmons has now reached base safely in 21 of the team's 24 games. Simmons had reached safely in the first 15 games of the year

Simmons at Short
Simmons is the only player in the KSU lineup to have started at the same position all season, filling the shortstop spot. Catcher
Max Pentecost has seen action in all 24 as both a catcher or a designated hitter.

Behind the Plate
Pentecost has now caught seven base runners attempting to steal from behind the dish.
