MARIETTA, Ga. – Senior
Alexandra Apostu and junior
Virginie Stein each recorded singles victories to highlight the Kennesaw State women's tennis team's 5-2 loss to Lipscomb in an Atlantic Sun Conference match Saturday afternoon at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta.

Apostu and Stein also teamed to record the Owls' lone doubles victory as Kennesaw State fell to 5-7 overall and 1-1 in A-Sun Conference play. The duo recorded an 8-3 win over Deahna Welcher and Jenny Borck, 8-3 at the No. 1 doubles position.

Stein, playing at No. 1 singles, recorded the Owls' first point of the match after handling Welcher, 6-2, 6-2. Apostu was stretched to a third set before outlasting Melissa Kromer, 6-3, 0-6, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
The win improved Lipscomb to 7-5 on the season, including 1-1 A-Sun Conference play.

Kennesaw State returns to action on Thursday (Mar. 20) when it hosts Chattanooga at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).
