THE SERIES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team wraps-up a seven-game home stand this week, taking on Auburn on Tuesday before hosting Western Carolina on Wednesday in Stillwell Stadium.
 
First pitch between the Owls and the Tigers is set for 6 p.m. ET with a 5 p.m. ET start time for Wednesday's game against the Catamounts.

The Kennesaw State baseball team took Columbia to extra innings on Sunday afternoon, but fell to the Lions in the 11th, 8-5, in Stillwell Stadium.

The Kennesaw State baseball team ends its seven-game home stand on Wednesday, March 12 as Western Carolina comes to town for a 5 p.m. ET contest.

Owls in the Nation
KSU now ranks second in the nation in total hits with its 193.

Offensive Production
he Owls currently hold three of the top five spots in the hits category in the A-Sun, Jacob Bruce leading the way with 26 followed by 25 from Kal Simmons and 24 from Max Pentecost.
 
Playing Well
KSU holds one of the most well-rounded teams, hitting .292 as a squad with a staff ERA of 3.06.

Stolen Bases
Along with the offensive production, KSU also leads the league in stolen bases, taking 25 bags in just 34 attempts.
 
In Relief
Justin McCalvin is quickly becoming one of the top relief pitchers around, holding a 0.92 ERA in seven appearances. McCalvin has tossed 19.2 innings allowing just two earned run while striking out 20.
 
Multi-Hit Games
Jacob Bruce leads the Owls in multi-hit games in 2014 with nine total. Bruce has had three or more hits on six occasions and two hits three times.
 
Simmons on Base
Shortstop Kal Simmons has now reached base safely in 17 of the team's 18 games. Simmons had reached safely in the first 15 games of the year before his streak was snapped over the weekend.
 
Simmons at Short
Simmons is the only player in the KSU lineup to have started at the same position all season, filling the shortstop spot. Catcher Max Pentecost has seen action in all 18 as both a catcher or a designated hitter.
 
Behind the Plate
Pentecost has now caught six base runners attempting to steal from behind the dish.
