TROY, Ala. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team concluded its weekend trip to Alabama with a 4-3 setback to Arkansas State Saturday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex on the campus of Troy University.

The Owls (4-5) opened the match on a positive note as they won the doubles point after recording victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions.
Alexandra Apostu and
Virginie Stein teamed to post an 8-3 win at No. 1, while
Jana Hueckinghaus and
Blaire LaSure secured an 8-2 victory at the No. 3 spot.

Kennesaw State was unable to carry that momentum into singles as it was only able to record two wins.

Apostu extended her singles winning streak to eight after dispatching Janie Nowland, 7-6 (3-0), 6-4, at the No. 2 spot, and freshman
Gabriela Bueno registered her first career dual-match victory after defeating Chiara Stefanov, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.

Kennesaw State is next in action on Sunday (Mar. 9) when it hosts Brown at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta.
