THE SERIES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team hits the road for one midweek game, heading down I-75 to take on rival Georgia Tech this Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. ET.
 
KSU starts off its four-game road trip with a 5-4 record while the Yellow Jackets hold a 4-3 mark on the year.

THE OPPONENT:
Georgia Tech is looking to improve on its 4-3 record in 2014, trying to find its offensive rhythm with a .289 team batting average. From the mound, however, the Yellow Jackets are holding the opposition to a stellar .232 average.

LAST OUTING
With home runs from Max Pentecost and Chris McGowan and 10 strikeouts from the pitching staff, the Kennesaw State baseball team eased to a 10-6 win over Gardner-Webb on Sunday afternoon in Stillwell Stadium.

NEXT UP:
KSU takes to its first road series of the year this weekend, heading to Jacksonville State starting on Friday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. ET.

NEWS AND NOTES:
Offensive Production
With 64 runs scored in the first nine games alone, the Owls sit atop the Atlantic Sun Conference in that category. The next closest team is Mercer with 58. Along with the league lead in runs scored, KSU is also enjoying the most hits in the conference with 102. With a .320 team batting average so far, the Owls are on pace to shatter their highest team season batting average in the NCAA Division I era of .303 that came back in 2009.

Hits Leaders
Max Pentecost and Jacob Bruce are tied for the conference lead in hits, each knocking 15 to start off the season.

RBI
Sophomore Alex Liquori leads the squad in runs batted in along with teammate Chris McGowan as both have driven in 10, McGowan picking up four on two home runs.
 
On the Bases
Jacob Bruce is tops on the team and second in the conference with his three stolen bases in as many attempts.
 
OBP
Designated hitter Brennan Morgan has found his way on base plenty this season, leading the team with six walks while compiling an on-base percentage of .400.
 
In Relief
Justin McCalvin is quickly becoming one of the top relief pitchers around, holding a 1.08 ERA in four appearances. McCalvin has tossed 8.1 innings allowing just one earned run while striking out eight without giving up a walk.
