THE GAMES:
The Kennesaw State softball team, along with Georgia Tech, hosts the Georgia Tech-Kennesaw State Crossover, a five-team tournament played at both KSU's Bailey Park and GT's Mewborn Field on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 21-22.
 
The Owls will take on No. 21/22 Tulsa in a doubleheader on Friday, starting at 3 p.m. ET, before wrapping the tournament with back-to-back games against Stony Brook at 2 p.m., and in-state rival Georgia State at 4 p.m.

THE SERIES:
It will be the first-ever meeting between the Golden Hurricanes and the Owls, while KSU holds a 15-11 advantage over the Panthers and is 0-1 against the Seawolves.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
The Kennesaw State softball team earned a series win over Tennessee Tech last weekend. The Owls took two games against the Golden Eagles, 5-3 and 4-3, on Saturday, before falling in the series finale, 9-3, on Sunday. Sophomore Kara Chambers led KSU with six hits, four runs, an RBI and a double in 11 at-bats. Senior pitcher Amanda Henderson owned a 1.45 ERA in 9.2 innings and earned both wins on Saturday, striking out 14 along the way.
 
NEXT UP:
Kennesaw State heads south for the USF-Under Armour Invitational, hosted by South Florida on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 28-March 2. KSU will face some stiff competition while in Clearwater, Fla., including Loyola Marymount, Temple, Toledo, Villanova and No. 11/13 Stanford.
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
Strikeout Leader
Senior pitcher Amanda Henderson leads the Owls in the circle with a 3-1 record in the early season. She owns a 3.00 ERA and ranks first in the Atlantic Sun Conference with 32 strikeouts while only giving up nine runs in 21 innings of work.
 
Fielding Percentage
The Owls own the second-highest fielding percentage in the Atlantic Sun Conference at .970 with 144 putouts and 47 assists, including two double plays, while only committing six errors on the season.
 
Stolen Bases
KSU is a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts, with their 10 stolen bases ranking fifth in the conference for more stolen bases.
 
Strikeouts
The Owls rank third in the A-Sun in batters struck out with 54 strikeouts in 48 innings.
 
Top Eight in Batting Average
Sophomores Kara Chambers and Missy Perkowski led the Owls and rank in the top eight in batting average in the A-Sun. Chambers sits sixth with a .478 batting average, while Perkowski is in a tie for eighth at .429. Chambers also 
 
Doubles
Sophomore Courtney Sutter leads the league in doubles with five on the season.
 
Rhodes Stealing
Junior Natalie Rhodes ranks fourth in the conference in stolen bases with five and is perfect on the year, going 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.
