THE SERIES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team begins a six-game week with a pair of midweek contest, heading to Athens, Ga. to take on the Bulldogs this Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET before hosting Savannah State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.

KSU looks to topple SEC foe Georgia for the second time in as many years, the Owls coming off of a season opening series win over Middle Tennessee State while the Bulldogs dropped two out of three to Georgia Southern.

LAST OUTING
Sophomore shortstop
Kal Simmons went 4-for-7 and drove in four runs to highlight a 20-hit attack as Kennesaw State defeated Middle Tennessee 18-1 in the rubber game of a three-game series at Stillwell Stadium on Sunday.
NEXT UP:
Following the midweek games against the Bulldogs and Tigers, the Owls will play four games at home against Gardner-Webb, starting on Friday evening at 4 p.m. ET.
NEWS AND NOTES:
Dynamic Duo
The duo of
Kal Simmons and
Max Pentecost combined for 17 hits and seven RBI over the three-game series, Simmons belting a triple and Pentecost knocking three doubles during the process.
Putting up Runs
The bats showed up early and often for KSU to start off the season, putting up 33 runs in the first three games of the year.
Liquori's RBI
Sophomore
Alex Liquori drove in six runs over the weekend, giving the rightfielder the team lead as well as the league lead in that category.

Bergen on the Hill
In his first start of the season,
Travis Bergen picked up the win after going five innings and striking out nine, allowing just six hits as well.

From the Mound
With a 3.88 ERA last season, KSU held one of the top pitching staffs in the conference and held the second most saves as a staff with 13.
Tops in the League
Kal Simmons and
Max Pentecost are the most potent bats in the A-Sun after three games, coming in at No. 1 and 2 in the league in hits, Simmons tops with his nine and Pentecost right behind with eight.
