RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – Junior Jimmy Beck turned in rounds of 71-69 for a 36-hole total of 4-under par 140 to lead Kennesaw State during the first day of The Farms Collegiate Invitational that is being played at the par-72, 6,947-yard The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
 
Beck's performance places him in second place, one shot behind San Diego's Grant Forest. The Toreros' junior carded rounds of 67-72 and is at 5-under par 139. Duke's Moltin Yeung (141) is third and followed by Nick Baines of San Diego and UC Riverside's David Gazzolo. Both players are tied for fourth at 2-under par 142.
 
San Diego currently leads the 12-team field with a 1-under par 575, three shots better than Duke, which is in second place with a 2-over par 578 total.
 
Kennesaw State, ranked No. 39 in the current Golfstat rankings and the highest ranked team in the field, is third at 4-over par 580. After opening with a 3-under par 285, the Owls posted a 7-over par 295.
 
Carlos Segura Oliva is tied for 19th after registering scores of 72-76 for a 4-over par 148. Junior Austin Vick and senior Jonathan Klotz are tied for 25th at 5-over par 149, while freshman Chris Guglielmo recorded rounds of 73-77 and is tied for 30th at 6-over par 150.
 
The Farms Collegiate Invitational concludes on Tuesday with Kennesaw State scheduled to tee off at 12:12 p.m. (ET). The Owls will be grouped with San Diego and Duke. Final-round action can be followed live on the Internet at www.golfstatresults.com.
