MG: Owls Remain in Second Place After Two Rounds of Rees Jones Invitational

DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. – Freshman Teremoana Beaucousin (Papara, Tahiti / Lycée de Papara) carded a career-best even-par 72 and junior Jimmy Beck (Columbus, Ga. / Columbus HS) fired a 2-under par 70 to lead the Kennesaw State men's golf team during Monday's second round of the Rees Jones Invitational that is being played the par-72, 7,380-yard Haig Point Golf Club in Daufuskie Island, S.C.

Beaucousin and Beck helped the Owls to a 9-over par 297, enabling them to maintain their second-place standing in the 54-hole event with an 11-over par score of 587. First-round leader South Florida (583) also posted a 9-over par 297 to remain four shots ahead of Kennesaw State heading into Tuesday's final round.

Junior Austin Vick (,Evans, Ga. / Greenbrier HS) who is playing as an individual, also had a solid second round, recording a 1-under par 71 and is tied for seventh.

Beck's 2-under par round moved him up 13 places in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 1-under par 143, five shots behind South Florida's Chase Koepka, who is at 6-under par 138.UNC Wilmington's Payne McLeod is in second three shots back at 3-under par 141.

Senior Jonathan Klotz (Columbus, Ga. / Columbus HS) recorded a 3-over par 75 and is tied for 26th with a 5-over par total of 149. Freshman Chris Guglielmo (Cumming, Ga. / South Forsyth HS) is tied for 29th at 6-over par 150, while Beaucousin (153) is tied for 37th and redshirt junior Kelby Burton (Evans, Ga. / Lakeside HS) is tied for 41st with a 154 total.

The Rees Jones Invitational concludes on Tuesday and Kennesaw State will be grouped with South Carolina and South Florida, and will tee off from the first hole beginning at 9:40 a.m. (ET). All the action can be followed live on the Internet at www.golfstatresults.com.
