GREENVILLE, S.C. – Led by junior Kaew Preamchuen, the Kennesaw State women's golf team turned in its best round of the young season, posting a 10-over par 298 during Saturday's second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational at the par-72, 6,266-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

The Owls' 298 total was the sixth-best of the day and helped Kennesaw State move up three spots to ninth place in the 16-team field with a 28-over par score of 604. GRU Augusta continues to lead the tournament with a 3-under par total of 573, five shots better than Clemson (578).

Preamchuen became the first Owls player this season to record an under-par round, posting a 1-under-par 71, and moved up 14 spots in the standings and into a tie for 11th with a 36-hole score of 2-over par 146, seven shots behind Clemson's Ashlan Ramsey who is at 5-under par 139, one shot ahead of GRU Augusta's Eunice Yi (140).

Preamchuen is one of three Kennesaw State players currently in the top 20 as she is joined by junior Ines Lescudier (Marseille, France / Tulane) and #Dulcie Sverdloff (Southend-on-Sea, Essex / Seevic College). Lescudier, who shot a 1-over 73, is 17th at 3-over par 147, while Sverdloff is tied for 20th after posting scores of 76-73 for a 5-over par 149.

"This team is capable of so much. It has a fantastic attitude and drive on the golf course that is contagious," Owls head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "To come out with only four players and record the sixth-lowest team score today is a testament to their ability.

"I am so proud of how they went out today and played with so much heart," Brinsmead added. "We need to stay focused tomorrow and avoid the doubles and we will be successful."

The Lady Paladin Invitational concludes Sunday with final-round action beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The Owls will be paired with Samford and Texas A&M. All the action can be followed live on the Internet at golfstatresults.com.
