The Kennesaw State men's golf resumes its fall season this weekend when it travels to Daufuskie Island, S.C. to compete in the Rees Jones Invitational that begins on Sunday (Sept. 22).
The format calls for 54 holes to be played over three days with 18 holes each day. Play commences at 8:30 a.m. (ET) with the Owls grouped with Georgia State and UNC Wilmington, and scheduled to tee off from the 10th hole.

"We are glad to be back in competition this weekend. Our team has been working hard on the right things all week so I feel good about where we are leading up to this event," head coach Jay Moseley said. "We are getting better every day and that is our main focus right now.
"This is a fantastic golf course that is very difficult and demands quality golf shots," Moseley added. "If we play well we know we can contend for the title."

The Haig Point Club is a par-72, 7,380-yard layout that opened in 1986 and was immediately claimed as the 28th best course in the Country by

THE FIELD
The 12-team field for the Rees Jones Invitational includes Charleston Southern, Charlotte, East Carolina, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Middle Tennessee State, host South Carolina, South Florida, Troy, UNC Wilmington and Winthrop. South Carolina was among teams receiving votes in the
Golf World/Nike Golf 2013-14 preseason men's golf Division I coaches' poll.
REES JONES INVITATIONAL
Kennesaw State is appearing in the Rees Jones Invitational for the fifth consecutive year and has enjoyed great success in the event, capturing the team title in 2010 and 2011. The Owls tied Liberty for first place in 2010 and posted a four-shot victory over South Carolina in 2011. In 2010, Matt Nagy claimed individual medalist honors with an even-par total of 216. Kennesaw State placed eighth a year ago, totaling a 57-over par 921, 51 shots behind Liberty (870). Sophomore Jimmy Beck tied for second with a 3-over par 219 total, six shots behind Liberty's Niklas Lindstrom.
LAST TIME OUT
Kennesaw State opened its 2013-14 season at the Carpet Capital Collegiate (Sept. 6-8) in Dalton, Ga., and placed 13th in the 14-team event. The Owls recorded rounds of 297-299-301 for a 33-over par score of 897, 47 shots behind host Georgia Tech (850). Junior Jimmy Beck tied for 12th and carding rounds of 72-73-71 for an even-par total of 216, nine shots behind North Carolina's Bailey Patrick (207) of North Carolina.
2012-13 SEASON IN REVIEW
The Owls made their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance a year ago. KSU received an at-large bid the Tempe Regional and tied for 10th in the 14-team event that was held at the ASU Karsten Course.
Junior Jonathan Klotz and sophomore Austin Vick paced the Owls as they tied for 30th with 2-over par totals of 212.
KSU posted four Top 5 finishes, including a first-place showing at its own Pinetree Intercollegiate. The Owls totaled a 4-under par 860 score to record a 24-shot victory over second-place Ball State (884).
Sophomore Jimmy Beck led the Owls with a 72.49 stroke average and won two individual titles while competing in all 12 events. His stroke average ranks No. 4 on KSU's single-season list. Beck claimed individual medalist honors at the Pinetree Intercollegiate (-7, 209) and Irish Creek Collegiate (-8, 205).
2012-13 Honors
Senior Ben Greene was named the Atlantic Sun Conference's men's golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Greene, Jimmy Beck and Peder Lunde Hermansson were named to the A-Sun Conference's All-Academic Team.
Beck was named A-Sun Conference first team while Hermansson was named to the second team.
Greene and Hermansson became the first two individuals in Kennesaw State history to be named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-Americans when they were named to the second team.
Greene, Jonathan Klotz and Hermansson were named to the Cleveland/Srixon Golf All-America Scholar Team.
Kennesaw State received the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Team Academic Award.
Jimmy Beck was named to the GCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region Team.
Jimmy Beck Wins Georgia State Amateur
Jimmy Beck capped an outstanding 2012-13 this past summer when he became the first Kennesaw State player to win the Georgia State Amateur held at nearby Pinetree Country Club in July.
Beck finished the 72-hole championship with a 1-over par total of 285 to post a two-shot victory over Travis Williamson (Brunswick). The Owls standout recorded rounds of 73-70-73-69.
Head Coach Jay Moseley
Head coach Jay Moseley begins his fifth season at Kennesaw State.
Moseley has led the Owls to one A-Sun Conference title (2011), three NCAA Regionals (2011, 2012, 2013) and one NCAA Championship (2011).
Moseley played collegiately at Auburn and graduated in 2008.
