MTN: Owls Men’s Tennis Begins Season at USC Upstate Fall Classic

Kennesaw State opens fall season in Spartanburg, S.C.

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team is set to open the 2013 fall season today at the USC Upstate Fall Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. The tournament will be held at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex and will run from Friday, Sept. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 15.
 
Participants from four other schools are set to compete along with the Owls. These schools include USC Upstate, Furman University, Presbyterian College, and Wofford College. "We are excited about getting started with the fall season," said head coach Eduardo Rincon. "The last few weeks of practice have been great and we are ready to compete."
 
Juniors Matthew Johnson, Alexander Pena, and Louis Theodor are set to compete at the event along with sophomores Tobi Menhofer, Jorge Wilton and Maksim Yorsh. Freshmen Jake Bouchillon, David Durham, and Simon Pritchard will make their Kennesaw State debut at the USC Fall Classic. "As a coach, I am looking forward to watching our team perform under pressure. This tournament will tell us what we need to work on and it should give us an idea of what we need to work on in order to meet our expectations," said #Rincon#.
 
The Owls will hit the road again Friday, Oct. 4 to compete at the Georgia Southern Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. The tournament will conclude Sunday, Oct. 6.
