KENNESAW, Ga. – Jeremy Gough has been named the new head strength and conditioning coach at Kennesaw State, it was announced on Thursday.

"I am very excited to have Jeremy Gough return to the KSU staff," Senior Women Administrator Karen Pfeifer said. "He brings new facets to our strength and conditioning program, since he is returning to us from a stint with the USOC.  The USOC is on the cutting edge of performance training and he brings that expertise and his resources with him.  Our student-athletes will benefit tremendously with this new addition."

Gough was a Graduate Assistant in the strength and conditioning program at KSU while getting his master's in exercise and health science. During his two years as a GA, Gough worked with women's basketball, women's soccer, men's tennis, men's and women's golf and also assisted in training of other sports. While working at Kennesaw State, Gough gained valuable experience in scientific based periodization programs, prehabilitation and injury prevention training programs that he used while working at the USOC.

After graduating with a master's degree, Gough became a strength and conditioning sport physiology fellow with the United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, Colo. In his time with the USOC, he would design and implement training programs for athletes who were on rehabilitation visits at the Olympic Training Center. Gough also implemented programs for the bobsled team, paralympic ski team, junior world greco roman wrestling team, and various other sports.

Gough received his bachelor's degree from Valdosta State University where he was also a student volunteer assistant in the weight room. His time as a student assistant allowed him to work with the football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball, cross country and golf teams.

Gough will start at Kennesaw State on Monday (July 29).
