THE GAMES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team will play just one midweek contest this week, heading to Cullowhee, N.C. to take on Western Carolina this Tuesday, April 23, for a 5 p.m. ET matchup.
KSU continues its two-week, eight-game, three-state road stretch against the Catamounts, arriving at .500 on the year at 21-21. WCU now sits at 26-16 on the season, but is holding an 18-7 mark at Hennon Stadium.

LAST OUTING
The Kennesaw State baseball team took the series loss at the University of North Florida on Sunday, April 21, falling by a score of 14-3 in the rubber match of the three-game Atlantic Sun Conference outing.
The Owls, who fall to 21-21 on the year and 9-9 in the A-Sun, got into trouble early on, giving up 13 runs in the first two innings to the Ospreys, who improve upon their A-Sun leading record, now 29-12 on the season and 11-4 in the league standings.
KSU also came up with eight hits during the loss, two from catcher
Max Pentecost (Winder, Ga./Winder-Barrow HS), with Christ McGowan (Lawrenceville, Ga./Collins Hill HS) earning a pair of RBI off of his two-run shot.
NEXT UP
The Owls will return to A-Sun action this weekend, heading to Johnson City, Tenn. for a three-game series against East Tennessee State starting on Friday at 7 p.m.

Janas on the Mound
Stephen Janas (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week after a dominating, 89-pitch complete game shutout win over North Florida this past Friday. Janas continues to lead the A-Sun and is top five in the nation with his 0.70 ERA.
Battle for the Average Lead
The battle continues for the top batting average on the roster for the Owls,
Jacob Bruce now holds the lead spot, hitting .315, with
Bo Way right behind at .311.
Tops in Homers
After #Chris McGowan’s# two-run homer at North Florida, there is a tie in the homerun lead on the squad between McGowan and
Alex Liquori, each with a pair.
Small Ball
KSU ranks in the top 25 nationally in sacrifice bunts with 42. The Owls have also knocked 10 sacrifice flies on the year as well.
Peyton Hart leads the team with 10 successful sacrifice bunts this season.
Hit Streaks
Both
Andy Almonte as well as
Chris McGowan are currently enjoying six-game hit streaks. Way is also tied for the team lead in multiple hit games with 14 along with Max Pentecost.
