KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State softball team will look to continue its two-game winning streak as the Owls will travel to Deland, Fla., for a three-game series against Stetson on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14 at Patricia Wilson Field. KSU and the Hatters will play a doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday. First pitch for both days is set for 1 p.m. (ET).

Kennesaw State (26-14, 10-8) earned its fourth Atlantic Sun Conference series win of the season as the Owls took two of three games from Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday and Wednesday. KSU and FGCU split a doubleheader on Tuesday, with the Owls falling in game one 11-3 in five innings, before rebounding with a 4-1 victory in game two. KSU then finished off the Eagles with a 3-2 win in the rubber match on Wednesday.
Senior
Jensen Hackett (Tunnell Hill, Ga./Ringgold HS) led the Owls against the Eagles, batting a remarkable .714 in the series with five hits in seven plate appearances, plus a run and an RBI. In the last six games, which including three-game series against North Florida and FGCU, Hackett has posted a batting average of .643 with nine hits, including one double, in 14 at-bats, as well as two runs and two RBI.
Junior
Amanda Henderson (Covington, Ga./Eastside HS) continues to lead the Owls in the circle. She owns a 1.38 ERA in 136.2 innings of work and is 15-3 on the season. Henderson leads the conference with 163 strikeouts. As of April 7, Henderson ranked fifth in the nation in ERA, while also ranking in the top 45 in several categories, including hits allowed per seven innings (17th), saves (19th), shutouts (24th), strikeouts per seven innings (29th), total strikeouts (38th) and victories (48th).
Stetson (22-16, 5-9) is coming off a doubleheader sweep at Jacksonville on Wednesday as the Hatters won by scores of 5-1 and 3-1. Courtney Brandt picked up the win in the circle in game one as she struck out five and allowed just four hits and one run. Meredith Owen was victorious in game two, scattering three hits while tying her career-high with 11 strikeouts.
Chelsea Whalley leads the Hatters with a .333 batting average and 22 hits, but has only played in 24 games this season. Chrissy Morello ranks second on the team with a .317 batting average and has played in all 38 games for the Hatters. Morello has also contributed 40 hits, including seven doubles, 26 runs and 12 RBI.
In the circle, Stetson has a pair of strong pitchers leading the team in Owen and Brandt. Owen is 13-7 on the season with an ERA of 2.14 in 127.2 innings and has tallied 95 strikeouts. Brandt owns an ERA of 3.36 in 77 innings and is 8-6 this year. She has collected 62 strikeouts.
Florida Gulf Coast (26-13, 7-4 A-Sun), the 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference regular season and tournament champions, are coming off a 2-1 weekend at Mercer on April 6-7. The Eagles started off the three-game series with a 7-6 loss in game one, before taking the next two games, 12-5 and 15-7.
The Owls will continue its road trip with a single game against Alabama State in Montgomery, Ala., on Wednesday, April 17 at 5 p.m.
