MARIETTA, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team fell to No. 74 East Tennessee State, 7-0, in the Owls’ final match of the season on Saturday, April 13 at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center.
KSU finishes the 2013 season with a 5-14 overall record and a 2-6 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference action. ETSU improves to 11-6 on the season and 7-1 in the A-Sun.
In doubles action, sophomore Alexander Pena and senior
Gokalp Ozdemir registered an 8-7 (7-0) win over Juan Ramirez and Jorge Varon at No. 2 doubles for the Owls. It was the duo’s seventh win of the season and third on court two.

Tobi Menhofer each took their singles matches to third sets, but would be unable to pull out the victories. After winning the first set, Menhofer fell 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 to Jesus Bandres at No. 1 singles, while Pena dropped a close 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8) decision to Ricardo Pabon on court six.
With the loss, it concludes the careers of seniors Ozdemir,
Gianni Kubin and
Nathan She.
