THE SERIES:
The Kennesaw State baseball team returns to Atlantic Sun Conference action this weekend as the Owls head to Stetson for a three-game series against the Hatters, looking for win number seven in a row in Deland, Fla.

Kennesaw State heads to Conrad Park at 15-10 on the year after a midweek win over Alabama State and 4-2 in the A-Sun while the Hatters hold a 12-13 mark on the season and are 1-2 in the league standings.

THE COVERAGE
AUDIO: Play-by-play will be available from KSUOwls.com with Brandon Scardigli narrating the action from Melching Field at Conrad Park.
LIVE STATS: Statistical updates will be available from GoHatters.com at the start of the game.

THE OPPONENT
Stetson holds steady in the middle of the pack in the A-Sun at 1-2 after taking one game in the A-Sun opening series against Mercer.

The Hatters are in the midst of a seven-game home stand and have only played two games away from their home stadium, neither one of those two games taking place outside of the state of Florida.

Robert Bruce has been tops offensively for Stetson, hitting .370 for a team that is batting .259 as a whole.

THE SERIES
The Owls and the Hatters have been fairly even in the all-time series with Stetson holding a 6-4 lead. A series win from the Owls can tie that up or give KSU the all-time lead by one game.

LAST OUTING
The Kennesaw State baseball team ended a 14-game home stand on a high note, taking a 6-2 win over non-conference opponent Alabama State in Stillwell Stadium on Tuesday night, taking the series sweep over the Hornets in the process.

Pitcher Nathan Harsh (Brunswick, Ga./Brunswick HS) earned the win after going 3.2 innings allowing just four hits and striking out five during the sophomore’s first start of the season. The bullpen for KSU allowed just five hits to the Hornets and only one earned run as well during the ballgame.

Offensively it was Bo Way (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy), the team leader with a .360 batting average for KSU, who put up a two-hit game, going 2-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored. First baseman Anthony Duran (Miami, Fla./Southwest Miami HS) also picked up a pair of hits in three at bats with a run and one RBI.

NEXT UP
Following the trip to Stetson the Owls will play a pair of midweek games, starting off on Tuesday, April 2 when Georgia comes to Stillwell Stadium for a 6 p.m. contest. After the game against the Bulldogs, KSU heads to Atlanta for a Wednesday meeting with top 25 opponent Georgia Tech.

NEWS AND NOTES
Leading the Way
Centerfielder Bo Way (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy) continues to lead the Owls with a .360 average and is in the midst of a 20-game hitting streak having hit in all but one game so far this season. Way is tops for the Owls in hits (36) and runs scored (19) after starting in 25 games for the black and gold.

Simmons in the Clutch
Freshman Kal Simmons (Nashville, Ga./Berrien HS) has been one of the pleasant surprises for head coach Mike Sansing this season, driving in a team-high 22 runs from the batter’s box so far. Simmons is one of just three Owls to make starts in every game in 2013.

Offense Heating Up
The Owls have scored a combined 58 runs over the last six games and are outscoring the opposition 134-96.

McCalvin in the Clutch

Duran on First
First baseman Anthony Duran has been perfect through 2013 so far, holding a fielding percentage of 1.000.
