Men’s Tennis to Host Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast

KENNESAW, Ga. –
The Kennesaw State men’s team is set to host a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches over the weekend as the Owls face Stetson on Friday, March 22 and Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, March 23. Both matches are scheduled to start at 11 a.m., at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, Ga.
 
Kennesaw State (3-9, 0-1) is coming off of a busy week, after traveling to Florida for a trio of matches last weekend. The Owls dropped their A-Sun opener, 7-0, to North Florida on Thursday, but rebounded with a nice 4-1 win over Bethune-Cookman on Friday. KSU wrapped up their weekend with a 5-2 loss against Green Bay in a neutral site match on the campus of Stetson.
 
Stetson (10-1, 2-0) last earned a 4-3 win over Green Bay on Wednesday, after dropping its first match of the season against No. 17 Drake, 7-0, on Monday, March 18. The Hatters own a pair of conference victories over Northern Kentucky (6-1) and Lipscomb (4-3). SU is led by Simon Julin, who owns an 11-0 record in singles action, including a 7-0 mark at No. 4 singles. Julin and partner Didrik Berg have also combined to post a 6-1 record at No. 2 doubles.
 
Florida Gulf Coast (7-6, 2-0) is coming off of a 7-0 defeat of NKU last Saturday, after opening A-Sun action with a 6-1 win over Lipscomb. FGCU has won five of its last seven matches with its only two losses coming against ranked foes. The Eagles are led by Jordi Vives, who has won seven of his last eight matches at the top spot in the lineup.
 
KSU next heads on the road for a pair of A-Sun matches, first traveling to Nashville, Tenn., for a match against Lipscomb on Thursday, March 28, followed by a match on Saturday, March 30 against league newcomer Northern Kentucky in Highland Heights, Ky. Both matches are set to begin at 1 p.m.
