JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State women’s tennis team opened the Atlantic Sun Conference season with a 7-0 loss at the hands of North Florida on Thursday, March 14 at the UNF Tennis Complex.
 
The Owls drop to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the Ospreys improved to 8-3 and 1-0 in the A-Sun.
 
Sophomore Virginie Stein and junior Alexandra Apostu pushed UNF’s Lorena Aviles and Melanie Aguirre to the brink, but eventually fell 8-7 (7-2) at No. 1 doubles.
 
In singles play Apostu battled against Simona Weymar on court two, before dropping the match 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
 
KSU continues its road trip on Friday, March 15 with a 9 a.m. (ET) match against Bethune-Cookman at the City Island Tennis Courts in Daytona Beach, Fla.
