MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Kennesaw State women’s tennis team (3-4) extended its winning streak to three as the Owls claimed a pair of 7-0 victories over Alabama A&M and Alabama State on Saturday at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
 
KSU earned the doubles point in both of its matches, as sophomore Virginie Stein and junior Alex Apostu tallied a couple of 8-1 wins at No. 1 doubles. The tandems of sophomores Jana Hueckinghaus and Tamara Plocher and senior Therese Lagerkvist and freshman Isabela Castro also notched doubles wins in both matches.
 
In singles action, Stein, Hueckinghaus, Plocher and Castro each registered a pair of straight-set victories, while Apostu earned a 6-1, 5-7, 10-8 win at No. 2 singles against AAMU but did not compete against ASU. Lagerkvist opened with a 6-0, 6-3 win against the Bulldogs on court five, before pulling out a 3-6, 6-1, 10-7 comeback at No. 4 singles against ASU.
 
Freshman Blaire LaSure posted her first career singles win for the Owls against the Hornets, a 6-0, 6-1 victory on court six.
 
The Owls will have a couple of weeks off before traveling to Atlanta for a 2 p.m. (ET) match against Georgia State on Friday, March 1.
