MACON, Ga. –
Kennesaw State cross country runner Nabil Hamid was recognized as the Atlantic Sun Conference Runner of the Week for his performance at the UWG Wolves Invitational, announced the conference office on Wednesday morning.

Hamid, a senior International Business major from Oromia, Ethiopia posted an 8k time of 24:01.06 to lead the Owls to their first team title since the 2010 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship. His mark topped the field of 77 runners at the Invitational, and stands as the fastest time in the conference at this point of the season. The Owls combined to finish with a season low point total of 35, as all five scorers finished inside the top-15.

The award marks the third time in his career that Hamid has been named A-Sun Runnner of the Week.

Hamid and the rest of the men’s squad will return to action on Oct. 5, when the team travels to Tallahassee, Fla., to compete in the Florida State Invitational. Followed by a trip to Louisville, Ky., for Pre Nationals, the men will get a glimpse of the 2012 National Championship site.
