ATLANTA, Ga. – Kennesaw State University Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams unveiled on Tuesday the primary mark that is part of a university-wide athletics brand and identity program.
The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics teamed with Rickabaugh Graphics, a nationally-recognized logo design company, and determined that the timing was perfect to initiate a new image that would match the rapid growth of the University and Department of Athletics while providing greater brand awareness.
The process began a year ago when the Department of Athletics formed a committee to discuss the current Owls athletic logo, brand awareness and opportunities for future growth. After several months, the department, in conjunction with focus groups, decided to work with a professional athletics logo company to assist in the process of evaluating the current KSU athletics logo.
The three marks introduced on Tuesday include the primary and secondary marks, along with the interlocking “KS”.
Merchandise featuring the new athletics logos will be available for purchase on the KSU Athletics on-line store (
http://shop.ksuowls.com) beginning today, and in the Kennesaw State University bookstore, the Wal-Mart at Chastain Meadows and in College Station at Town Center Mall, a regional sports apparel retailer with locations in Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee, starting June 13.
“This is another step forward for Kennesaw State University to continue expanding and exposing its image to our community,” Williams said. “It also provides Kennesaw State students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community an opportunity to wear KSU athletics apparel with great pride and help market Kennsaw State University, its athletics department and teams.”
The Department of Athletics is continuing to work with Rickabaugh Graphics to develop the entire family of athletics marks and will celebrate the release of all the marks on August 20 at the KSU Welcome to the Block Fall Kick-off Event that will be held on the campus green at Kennesaw State.
