KENNESAW, Ga. – It was a proud day for the Kennesaw State Department of Athletics as 35 student-athletes from the 2012 graduation class took the next step forward in their lives as they received their diplomas at the Spring Commencement ceremonies held at the KSU Convocation Center on Tuesday.
The 2012 class had several great achievements both on and off the field to help make Kennesaw State what it is today. On the field, the Black and Gold have taken home nine Atlantic Sun Conference Championships in the past four years, including two this season with men’s indoor track and field and women’s golf. In the classroom, the KSU student-athletes keep on setting the bar higher as their 3.11 GPA this fall was the highest combined cumulative grade point average ever for athletics.
“Obviously, the best days of the year are graduation days,” Director of Athletics
Vaughn Williams said. Days like today are why student-athletes come to Kennesaw State and why we do what we do not only in higher education, but in college athletics as well. This class really set the bar high for all Division I student-athletes that follow as they were champions in the classroom, community and in competition.”
There were 10 athletic programs represented during graduation with women's soccer (9) and track and field (8) leading the way.
