ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Kennesaw State men’s golf team dropped to ninth place at the NCAA Ann Arbor Golf Regional after Friday’s round of 290, +6 at the University of Michigan Golf Course.

Ben Greene turned in the low round of the afternoon for the Owls with a 71, -1 to move into a tie for 24th. Greene is tied with teammate Peder Lunde Hermansson who fell from fifth place after round one when carding a 74, +2 on day two.

Greene hustled on the back nine to save his round with three consecutive birdies on holes 13, 14, and 15 and pared out for a sub-par round. Hermansson turned in two birdies on the back nine as well but had it erased by an untimely bogey on the 18th hole.

Senior Matt Nagy carded a 73, +1 to move into a tie for 30th. After tallying three bogeys on the front nine, Nagy settled in and played a flawless back nine at one-under-par.

Freshman Jimmy Beck and senior Jeff Karlsson each posted a 75, +3 as Karlsson is in 37th position while Beck is tied for 38th.

Number one seeded Southern California came storming back after round one to take the lead. The Trojans posted a tournament best 272, -12 on the second 18-holes to hold a one stroke lead over Oregon, Kent State and TCU who are in a three way tie for second at 562, -6.

Julien Brun of TCU remains the individual medalist leader as he sits tied with Albin Choi of North Carolina State at seven-under-par for the tournament.

The Owls will tee off in round two on Friday at 7:30 a.m. E.T., and will be paired with N.C. State and Oklahoma State. Live stats of the NCAA Regional can be viewed at Golfstat.com. For updates throughout the round, you can also follow the team on Twitter @KSUOwlsMensGolf.
