DES MOINES, Iowa – The Kennesaw State Track and Field program represented the KSU athletics department at the historic 103rd Drake Relays and came away with some top times as Kendall Parks set the school record in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.79.
Parks posted his career best on one of the largest track and field stages. Recording a second place with his time, the senior finished just behind Indiana States’ Gregmar Swift’s time of 13.72. Parks’ pace assures him of a trip to the NCAA Regional May 24 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Junior Ryan Burruss placed tenth in the 3000-meter steeplechase at a pace of 9:24.71. Anjoun Armaly finished 19th in the triple jump with a distance of 13.97m, while the 4x100 team of Parks, Sadio Diallo, Jemir Martinez and Reggie Lewis posted a time of 41.03 to fall just short of qualifying for the finals.
For the women competing, Lashanna Barchue recorded a 14th place jump of 5.18m in the long jump.
The combination of Brittany Robinson, Kentrell White, Victoria Jackson, and Latia Daniels ran a time of 3:51.76 in the 4x400m relay in the preliminaries.
