KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State will conclude its home stand on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m., as they face the No. 23 ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Stillwell Stadium in the second matchup of the season between the two teams.

The Owls (18-11, 7-2) are coming off their fifth successive series win as they trumped conference opponent North Florida this past weekend at home. KSU captured the series Sunday with a come-from-behind win, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth to rally a 4-3 Black and Gold victory. The win advanced the Owls to 13-4 in their last 17 games, as they sit atop the conference standings in a tie with USC Upstate and Belmont.

Senior Andy Chriscaden leads the Kennesaw State attack, as he was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week. The Monroe, Washington native led the Black and Gold to a 4-1 week as he hit .588 (10-for-17) with three homeruns and nine RBI’s.

In their last cross-town showdown, the Owls would fall behind 11-0 before plating their first run in the fifth inning, as Andy Almonte tallied his second home run of the season to put the Owls on the board, 11-2. KSU would score three more times before falling to the Yellow Jackets 11-5 at Russ Chandler Stadium.

The game will be the 18th meeting all-time between the teams with the Yellow Jackets holding a 13-4 lead in the series. KSU has won the last two meetings at Stillwell Stadium, winning, 7-6, last year and 7-4, in 2010.

Georgia Tech (18-11, 6-6) won their series against Duke this past weekend at home (2-1). Junior Brandon Thomas will look to keep his momentum, as the right fielder was 3-for-5 with an RBI this past Sunday. Thomas finished the week 10-for-17 (.588) in four games with four RBI, three runs, two doubles and three stolen bases, despite missing the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

On the mound for Kennesaw State will be Kevin McCoy in his first Division I start. McCoy bolsters a 1.93 ERA in 10 appearances this season, as the sophomore pitched two innings in February’s game versus the Yellow Jackets, allowing only one hit while striking out two. Tossing for Georgia Tech will be freshman Cole Pitts, who picked up the win in this season’s prior contest. Pitts threw four innings of scoreless ball against the Black and Gold, striking out five batters.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. For tickets to the game, visit www.KSUOwls.com/tickets as adult tickets are $10, and children are $5. All fans who attend the game are encouraged to arrive early and park in the East parking deck or East lot.
