Day two at the Legends at Chateau Elan Golf Club proved to be a bit tougher with rain coming through at the conclusion of the round. While the Owls failed to make up and ground on the leading Ospreys, the team did move into a tie for second place with East Tennessee State.

Junior Ben Greene regrouped from his round one performance and turned in the team’s lowest round of the day. Posting a 70, -2, Greene moved into a tie for 20th place.

Matt Nagy remains the team’s lowest individual in ninth place. After concluding round one in a tie for fourth, the senior dropped to ninth following a 75, +3 day two score.

Freshman Jimmy Beck and sophomore Jonathan Klotz are just behind Nagy in a tie for 10th place. Beck moved up from 16th place with a 73, +1 on the second 18-holes, where as Klotz stayed constant after a 74, +2. Kelby Burton finished round two with a 78, +6 to fall into a tie for 20th.

“We played well overall as a team, but we left putts on the green that could of went our way but didn’t,” head coach Jay Moseley said. “We are going to have to play really well to catch UNF, but we feel like if we go out and play well, anything can happen on this golf course.”

The Ospreys (286, -2) remain the out right leader after 36-holes. Placing two individuals atop the leader board, Sean Dale (137, -7) holds a two-stroke lead over teammate Kevin Aylwin (139, -5). Aylwin posted the tournaments lowest round with a 67, -5 on Tuesday.

Kennesaw (291-292=583, +7) and ETSU (288-295=583, +7) are knotted up in second place with Florida Gulf Coast (596, +20) in fourth and Mercer (600, +24) rounding out the top-five.
