KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women’s golf team travels to Miami, Fla., to compete in the Hurricane Invitational at the par-71, 6,017-yard Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club Mar. 5-6.
The tournament will feature 54 holes of strokes play, with 36-holes on Monday and a final 18 on Tuesday. The No.68 ranked University of Miami will play host for the 16-team tournament with No.132 Arkansas State, No. 124 Boston College, No. 59 Campbell, Daytona State (2010-11 NJCAA National Champions), No.158 Florida Gulf Coast, No.141 Georgetown, No. 69 Georgia State, No.88 James Madison, No.65 Kansas State, No.58 Kennesaw State, No.95 Longwood, No.56 Michigan, No.16 Ohio State, No.113 Oral Roberts and No.167 Princeton all in attendance.
KSU's lineup for the Invitational will be at No.1 Ket Preamchuen, No.2 Ines Lescudier, No.3 Lea Charpier, No.4 Kaew Preamchuen and Molly Winnett at No.5.
"We are excited about getting back on the course," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "The previous two tournaments we competed in were filled with very talented fields. They have prepared us and made us ready for the rest of the season. We have had a solid week of practice and fully intend to return home with some hardware."
The last time out, the women finished in 13th place, posting a 308-298-311=917, +53 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, in a field that held 12 of the Golfstat top-50 teams. Freshmen Ines Lescudier and Kaew Preamchuen each finished tied for 42nd, posting a 228, +12 to lead the Owls as Kaew showed her potential talent on day two by firing the tournament's fifth lowest round of 70, -2.
