CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Kennesaw State women’s soccer team kicked off its 2012 spring campaign this past weekend as it took part in a 7v7 tournament at Western Carolina University on Mar. 17.
The Owls played a total of six games in the tournament finishing with a record of 4-2, eventually losing in the championship game of the tournament to Western Carolina by a score of 1-0.
In the six contests played on Saturday afternoon, the Black and Gold outscored their opponents by a total of 12-4. Sophomore Tasia Williams and freshman Julia Nelson led the way for the KSU attack as they each scored three goals in the tournament.
Leading the Kennesaw State defense was redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Emily Cox as she stopped six shots on the afternoon.
The Owls will continue their spring play on Mar. 24 as they travel to Athens, Ga. to play in a 7v7 tournament at the University of Georgia.
