KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics released the 2012 softball promotions schedule earlier this week, offering fun and exciting events and giveaways during each of the Owls 10 home dates this season. The Black and Gold have their Bailey Park opener this Saturday, when they host Georgia State for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.

All fans attending Saturday’s games will receive three dollar admission, with the first 500 to arrive receiving Owls seat cushions, the first of five dates that will offer fans free Owls souvenirs. The Owls will be providing water bottles to the first 500 fans that arrive on Saturday, Mar. 24 to the doubleheader against Georgia Southern.  On Sunday, Mar. 25 bumper stickers will be handed out to the first 300 fans and kids can make their own ice cream sundae in an Owls Mini Helmet. The first 500 fans to attend the Owls Apr. 21 tilt with Belmont will receive temporary tattoos.

Saturday’s 2012 home opener will be the first of three home dates this season that will offer some form of free or discounted admission. All fans will be admitted free on Saturday, Apr. 7, when the Owls take on Jacksonville at 1:00 p.m., while youth softball players will be admitted free on Apr. 21 vs. Belmont, with accompanying parents receiving three dollar admission.

There will be free food for the first 200 students in attendance on Thursday, Mar. 22, when the Owls take on Samford at 6:00 p.m. as part of Student Appreciation Night.

For the fourth consecutive season, the Owls will host Lexi’s Day, to benefit the Alexis Kaiser Foundation, on Wednesday evening, Apr. 4, when the Owls host Georgia Tech at 6:00 p.m. All fans who make a 10 dollar donation will receive admission to the game and will be invited to take part in a pre-game catered meal, all gate proceeds will also go to The Alexis Kaiser Foundation, which raises money for children with special needs.

Tickets to Owls softball games are six dollars for adults and four dollars for youth in eighth grade or younger. KSU students, faculty, and staff receive free admission to all Owls home athletic events when they present a valid student ID.
