CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Kennesaw State tennis teams look to continue their strong starts this weekend as both teams travel to Chattanooga for a Saturday contest with the Mocs. Both matches will take place at 1:00 pm. at the Champions Club Tennis Center.
The KSU women (5-2) are coming off of a 2-0 weekend after wins over Wofford and Presbyterian. The Lady Mocs (4-1) are coming off of their first loss of the season, a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Middle Tennessee State. The Mocs are led by junior Jenna Nurik, who holds down the top spot for the Lady Mocs. She holds a 4-1 record in the No. 1 singles slot this spring. She will have to overcome history to be successful against the Owls, as she holds a career 0-2 record against Owl No. 1
Vera Shkundina.
On the men's side, KSU and Chattanooga (6-2) face off for the first time. The Owls (5-3) are very familiar with the Mocs, however, as they have taken part in Chattanooga's fall tournament all four years of their existence. The Owls are coming off of victories over Presbyterian and Georgia Southern on the road last weekend. Chattanooga is on a roll of their own, having won their last four matches.
