SORRENTO, Fla. – After round two of the UCF Challenge, the Kennesaw State women’s golf team advanced to ninth place, posting a 295, +7 on day two at the Red Tail Golf Club.
Ines Lescudier was the low Owl of the round, as she turned in a 70, -2 on a day that saw the native of France hole five birdies as she sits tied for 20th. Both Ket Preamchuen and Molly Winnett each carded a 74, +2 to help the Black and Gold improve from 11th place after round one. Winnett and teammate Lea Charpier are each tied for 43rd, while Ket Preamchuen is tied for 57th.
“The teams play was solid today,” head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. “We got off to another great start and Ines’ clutch finish really boosted us. Our goal as a team tomorrow is to focus on finishing our rounds. We have positioned ourselves well to have a good showing at this tournament and will fight hard for a strong finish.”
Auburn and Baylor are in a first place tie as each squad is knotted at 569, -7. Tulane remains in third place at 576, E, while UCF (577, +1) and Augusta State (579, +3) round out the top five.
The Owls will tee off in the final round of the UCF Challenge with a shotgun start at on Tuesday at 9 a.m. E.T. and will be paired with Kentucky and South Carolina.
