MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The men's and women's tennis teams travel together this weekend to face off with three schools in Alabama. On Saturday, they take on Alabama State and Alabama A&M on the campus of ASU. On Sunday, both teams travel to Troy University to square off against the Trojans.
This will be the fourth meeting between the men's team and Saturday's opponents, with the Owls holding a 3-0 edge over both schools. It will be the first meeting for the men's team against Troy.
"We've had success against both programs we will play on Saturday," commented Owls Head Coach #T.J. Greggs#, "But we never take a team lightly, and will come prepared for a battle."
On the women's side, the Owls have faced Alabama State and Alabama A&M every year in the Division I era, going 6-1 against the Aggies, and a perfect 7-0 against Alabama State. The Owls have not had the same success with Troy, falling to the Trojans in their only meeting in the 2010 season.
On Saturday, the Owls teams will both begin play at 8:00 a.m. CST against Alabama State, followed by a Noon start for the Alabama A&M matches. Sunday's matches against Troy will both take place at 1:00 p.m. CST on the campus of Troy University.
