THE SERIES
Texas State holds the 1-0 lead in the all-time series between the two schools, winning the lone showdown last season 72-70 on Dec. 19, 2011 in the Kennesaw State Convocation Center.

Sametria Gideon (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) was good for 10 points during the win while Kristina Wells (Douglasville, Ga./Douglas County HS) came away with three steals as KSU shot 44-percent from the field and 40-percent from beyond the arc as a team.

THE OPPONENT
The Bobcats rank No. 11 in the nation in terms of points per game, averaging 78.7 per contest while senior guard Diamond Ford ranks 25th in the NCAA individually with a 20-point per game average, one of four Bobcats averaging double-digits in the scoring column.

Despite the high-powered offense, Texas State is allowing 76 points per game to its opponents and is being outrebounded on the season, 359-311, struggling to perform in the paint.

Texas State is coming in off of a 69-52 road win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

LAST OUTING
With a season-high 25-point performance from senior guard Ashley Holliday (Greenville, S.C./T.L. Hannah HS), the Kennesaw State women’s basketball team earned its third win of the year with a 71-62 routing of UNC Asheville.

Holliday connected on 7-of-19 attempts from the field and 5-of-10 attempts from beyond the arc, putting in over half of KSU’s nine three-pointers during the win. Of the eight players who saw action, seven of them put in points with Wells and Chelsea Mason (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue West HS) scoring in double digits with 13 and 11 points respectively along with Holliday’s 25.

On the boards, the Owls collected 36 rebounds, 25 defensive, with Gideon hauling in a team-high nine. Freshman Shadelly Guzman (Miami, Fla./Monsignor E. Pace HS) brought in six as did junior Christine Wylie (Ballarat, Australia/Ballarat HS), all defensive, to go along with her game-best two blocks.

THE NUMBERS
The Owls continue to be one of the best perimeter defenses in the Atlantic Sun Conference, allowing opponents just a .273 success rate from beyond the arc.

KSU plays one of the cleanest games in the country, ranking 11th in the NCAA in fewest personal fouls committed per game with an 11.75 average.

NEXT UP
After nine road trips in the first 10 games of the 2012-13 season for KSU, the Owls will make their long awaited return to the Convocation Center on Friday, Dec. 21, as the team takes on in-state rival Georgia Southern at 7 p.m.

Holliday Heats up
Holliday put in 25 points against UNC Asheville, just four points away of reaching her career high of 29.
