USTFCCCA Release

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s cross country team had two runners named All-Region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Senior Nabil Hamid and sophomore Natan Reuter were recognized by the USTFCCCA for their outstanding performances during the 2012 season.

Hamid earned the honors after competing in his second consecutive NCAA National Championship. He finished 147th in a field of 245 at the NCAA National Cross Country Championship to cap his stellar KSU cross country career with a 10k time of 31:05.0. Hamid finished runner-up at the Atlantic Sun Conference championship for the fourth year in a row to earn All A-Sun First Team honors, and placed seventh at the NCAA South Regional Championship prior to concluding his illustrious career.

Reuter ended his first season with Owls with an 18th place finish and 10k time of 31:02.0 at the NCAA South Regional. Prior to the Regional he finished fifth at the A-Sun Championship to earn All A-Sun First Team honors. Together the two standouts helped lead the Black and Gold to a third place finish at the A-Sun Championship and a tenth place showing at the NCAA Regional.

This year’s award marks the third consecutive year that Hamid has been honored by the USTFCCCA, and the first for Reuter. The two runners will now turn their attention to the start of the indoor track and field season as the campaign begins on Saturday, Dec. 1 when the team travels to Birmingham, Ala., to compete in the BSC Indoor Icebreaker.
