MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State cross country standout
Nabil Hamid earned his fourth career Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week honor for his performance at the Florida State Invitational announced the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Hamid finished sixth overall, with an 8k time of 25:32.0 in the 16 team, 162 individual field, helping the Black and Gold finish third as a team. His top-10 finish was his third consecutive of the season, leading the Owls to a No. 8 ranking in the South Region of the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.
This marks the second time in 2012 Hamid has claimed Runner of the Week honors and the fourth of his career.
A senior International Business major from Oromia, Ethiopia, Hamid and the Owls are on track to compete for the A-Sun Championship title. With a final tune-up at the Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Ky., on Oct. 13, the men are set for the A-Sun Championship in Fort Myers, Fla., on Nov. 9.
