NEW ORLEANS, La. - The women's tennis season got off to a rocky start today in New Orleans, as the team dropped a 7-0 decision to Tulane (1-0).  

The Owls (0-1) were swept in straight sets in all but one of the singles matches, with junior Therese Lagerkvist being the only Owl to pull out a set against the experienced Tulane squad.  Lagerkvist, competing at the No. 5 position, dropped a hard-fought 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(7) decision to Jenny Hois of the host team.  This was the first meeting between the two squads.

The ladies will look to recover quickly, as they face off with Southern University of Baton Rouge tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. CST.
