MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State men’s golfer Matt Nagy was named the Atlantic Sun Men’s Golfer of the Week by the conference on Wednesday after his performance at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.

The senior finished tied for 13th in a star-studded field after posting a 54-hole total of 68-75-75=218, +2, producing 13 birdies and saving 29 par opportunities. The Buena Vista, Ga., native helped lead the Owls to an 11th place finish in the team’s second tournament of the season and a ranking of 54th in the nation by Golfstat.com.

This is the second consecutive top-20 finish in as many weeks for Nagy as he gets ready to help lead the Black and Gold at the Rees Jones Intercollegiate next week in Daufuskie Island, S.C., an event that both he and the Owls claimed titles at in 2010.

“He has played well and his game has been sharp thus far,” head coach Jay Moseley said. “His play has helped carry us in our first two tournaments and we look for it to continue throughout the remainder of the season.”

This marks the second time in Nagy’s career that he has been named an A-Sun Golfer of the Week.
