Four Owls will be making their collegiate debut

9/22/2011 9:55:00 AM

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team is ready to begin its highly-anticipated 2011-12 season on Friday afternoon as it will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to compete in the University of Buffalo Invitational.

Joining Kennesaw State in the tournament will be host school Buffalo, Saint Bonaventure and Niagara.

“I am really looking forward to seeing how our new players mix in with our returners this weekend,” head coach #T.J. Greggs# said. “I have several doubles pairings with a returner/newcomer combination, and I think it will be a good test for us.  It will be nice to see some new teams by traveling to Buffalo, and I hope to bring home some titles.”

The Black and Gold return five starters from a team that set program records last season for most overall and conference wins in a single season with nine and three, respectively.

Coach Greggs also brought in a very diverse, yet talented, 2011-12 signing class that was comprised of four freshmen and a senior transfer from Samford.

Play will kick off on Friday at 3 p.m., continue on Saturday at 12 p.m. and the final day will start on Sunday at 10 a.m.
