WOLCOTT, Colo. - The Kennesaw State women’s golf team dropped two spots to 12th in some difficult conditions at the Golf Week Conference Challenge. The squad posted a 304-317=621, +45 over two rounds at the Red Sky Golf Club.

“Although today was not a great scoring day for the team, we pushed on the back nine and kept a decent round together considering the difficult conditions,” head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said.

The silver lining of the afternoon for the Black and Gold was their back nine performance as the team finished five-over-par on the remaining holes after finishing the first nine 24-over-par.

“To play the way we did on the front nine and to be able to navigate back to just five-over on the back nine was impressive,” Brinsmead said. “I am proud of the resilience of this team and the way they kept trying.”

Junior Ket Preamchuen led the Owls for the second consecutive day finishing t-19th after posting a 74-77/151, +7.

The two freshmen have been solid contributors in their first collegiate action as Léa Charpier currently sits t-37th shooting a 75-80=155, +11, while Minami Levonowich is t-46th after turning in a 78-79=157, +13.

Hayley Clinning rounded out the day two scoring for the Black and Gold as the sophomore posted an 81 to bring her 36-hole total to 169, +25 after an opening round of 88.

The Owls will begin the final round on Wednesday on hole-11 and will be paired with UTSA and TCU. Live stats of the Golf Week Conference Challenge can be viewed at Golfstat.com.
